Notes:               Judogi color:Although optional, we encourage the wearing of a Blue gi by the ÒblueÓ sidecompetitor.  The ÒwhiteÓ sidecompetitor must wear a white judo gi. Competitorsare responsible for appearing in the correct color gi.  Under no circumstances shall bothcompetitors be allowed to compete in blue gis, nor will the blue and whitecompetitors be allowed to switch positions.

We must receive them by December 5th2003 for them to be valid.  Anew entry fee and registration form will need to be filled out and paid atregistration time if fee and forms have not been received by December 5th2003.  We will send you back alllate forms and checks.

Divisions:          Competitors15 years old and older and brown belt rank or higher may compete intheir age/weight division and/or a senior division; competitors 30 years andolder may compete in the Masters Category and /or Senior Category.  A separate entry form and entry fee isrequired for each division entered.

 

Eligibility:        Opencompetition.  Contestants from allstates are welcome.  All contestantsmust be currently registered and insured with one of the following nationalorganizations: USA Judo (NGB, USJI), USJF, or USJA (Membership in USA Judo willbe available at the tournament site during registration).  See below for age/weight eligibility.NGB cards will be on sale at weigh-in and registration.

 

InsuranceNote: Forinsurance liability purposes, contestants must provide proof of currentregistration and insurance with one of the above listed nationalorganizations.  If the registrationcard is lost, New Mexico Judo Inc. can only verify USA Judo (USJI) registrationlocally.

 

Awards:          Medalsfor 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in alldivisions.  Team trophies for 1st,2nd, and 3rd place teams.

Masters Men, Masters Women, Senior Novice (17 yr. & older who are below Brown Belt) and Junior Novice Divisions (White to Orange belts) will be grouped based on thenumber and weights of the participants.

 

Senior rules willapply to the Masters Divisions.

Senior ruleswill apply to Senior Novice. No kansetsu waza.  Shimewaza is permitted. 

Junior ruleswill apply to all Junior Novice divisions.

3 minute matches for Men & Women Masters, and all Novice Divisions, Junior & Senior.

Seniors to start 1 hrafter Masters and Junior Divisions are completed.

            IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE INANY WAY, INCLUDING TRAVEL TO AND FROM, IN ANY JUDO TOURNAMENT, PRACTICE CLINIC,AND RELATED EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE UNITED STATES JUDO, INC., UNITEDSTATES JUDO ASSOCIATION, UNITED STATES JUDO FEDERATION, SANDIA JUDO CLUB,ALBUQUERQUE JUDOKAI, RIO RANCH PUBLIC SCHOOL, AND ALL SPONSORS, INSTRUCTORS,ASSISTANTS AND DIRECTORS, I HEREBY:

 

1.      I acknowledge that I am familiar with the sport of Judoand understand the rules governing the sport of Judo.

2.      Agree that prior to participation, I will inspect themats, equipment, facilities, and competition pools or divisions and theelimination or scoring system to be used, and if I believe anything is unsafeor beyond my capability, I will immediately advise my coach or supervisor ofsuch condition(s) and refuse to participate.

3.      Acknowledge and fully understand that I will beengaging in a contact sport that may result in serious injury, includingpermanent disability or death, and severe social and economic losses due notonly by my own actions, inactionÕs, or negligence, but also action, inaction,or negligence of others, the rules of the sport of Judo, or conditions ofpremises or any equipment used. Further, I acknowledge that there may be other risks not known to me ornot reasonably foreseeable at this time.
